In the early 80's, I was visiting a friend who worked at a recording studio in North Hollywood. I went into the men's room for a quick 'bathroom break.'
I was all alone in there and just about to wrap things up when who should walk in and stand right next to me, also 'taking care of business' but one of the biggest names in Rock and Roll.
I couldn't believe it. I recognized him right away.
It was PAUL SIMON!!!
We chatted briefly about Los Angeles radio. When I told him who I was and where I worked (I was on one of the big Top 40 stations at the time), he said he liked LA Radio better than radio in New York. He was a very nice guy.
As I left I thought, "Of all places to meet a superstar... the men's room at a little out of the way recording studio in NOHO!"
